Along with representing Australia at 2 Olympics (Sydney 2000 & Athens 2004), 2 Commonwealth Games (Manchester 2002 & Melbourne 2006) where he won a Bronze medal (Melbourne) and 6 world championship events. From 2000 until 2008 Peter qualified for every Australian team and during this time he was Australia's most dominant athlete on the international circuit. His hard and fast attitude towards racing was enjoyed by his numerous fans and supporters.
Peter was fortunate to work as a coach for Triathlon Australia, working with some of Australia's current/future talent in National Talent Academy (NTA). Peter's passion for the sport continues as he continues his coaching career, opening up his services, knowledge and experience to committed athletes. Peter has also studied Elite Athlete Mentoring and enjoys educating others to become more successful in their chosen pursuits. Peter enjoys sharing his stories, strategies and passion through speaking engagements to sporting clubs/squads, corporate events and private organisations.
Outside of sport, Peter enjoys gardening at home. He has an organic vegetable garden in his backyard and also enjoys hiking/trekking around the world. He has trekked in Nepal, North and South America and also many of the great tracks around Australia. His favourite being the Overland Track in Tasmania. Peter resides in Perth, WA.
As much as he still enjoys travelling, Peter says "to be completely honest, I just like spending time at home now. After all the years of travelling, it's a bit of a novelty not to be hoping on a plane anymore! Spending time with my family (my boy Riley arrived 8/11/16) and in the garden at home are my favourite pastimes now."
Dan joined elitePB on the pool deck at the beggining of 2017. He adds valuable experience as an elite (open water) swim coach. His knowledge of swim analysis has been welcomed by the squad.
